Pest Control For A Cure

Fighting Cancer

I created Pest Control For a Cure in honor of my father, Bill Spencer, who founded our company in the 70’s. My dad was diagnosed with Sarcoma cancer in 2006, and bravely toughed it out for 6 years.

During his fight he kept a positive attitude and was an inspiration to many, giving others the strength to endure their battle. His inspiration to me was to find a way to give back.

I don’t have to tell you that cancer touches everyone. Pest Control For a Cure is designed to help the non-profits that help the patients and their families affected by cancer. Our primary work is fundraising, either by contributing to organizations who raise money, or giving directly to research and care facilities like St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

As a company we do our own fundraisers in conjunction with a variety of events: Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk, American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, Paws for a Cause, Pink in the Rink are just a few.

We even enable our customers to help. When a customer signs up for a new service, Pest Control For a Cure will donate $50 to the cancer non-profit of the customer’s choice.

Fighting cancer is a passion everyone in our company has embraced.
If you’d like to help us stomp out cancer, celebrate those who have survived, and honor those who haven’t, we welcome you. You can volunteer or participate in any of our events, or make a donation. Just call us at any of our offices.

Spencer Pest | Pest Control for a Cure receives the first NPMA Gives award

Dear Friends,

Last week Spencer Pest Services was extremely honored to be bestowed the very first ‘NPMA Gives’ award (National Pest Management Association). This award was developed to recognize companies, in our industry, and their contributions to respective communities. This ‘giving’ could be through donations, investment of time, programs, advocacy or other contributions.

Spencer Pest was honored to accept this inaugural award for our passion in fighting cancer. We have called this our ‘Pest Control For a Cure’ effort which is, excitedly, growing beyond our company. More on that another day.

We could not have done this without you all. Our customers, supporters, staff and friends have all rallied through the years in support of events and fundraising campaigns of all types. This NPMA Gives award we share with you.

“We received numerous entries this year and the selection process was not an easy one,” said NPMA CEO Bob Rosenberg. “However, this year’s NPMA Gives award recipient embodies everything that this program is about…so much so that even the company’s mission statement incorporates its commitment to its cause.”

Spencer Pest Services was awarded this honor for the employees’ efforts to raise money to fight cancer through a program called Pest Control for a Cure, created in honor of the company’s founder, Bill Spencer.

Each year, company staff fundraiser and participate in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night and Woman of the Year, and the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, Paws for a Cause, Pink in the Rink. Additionally, the company hosts Dine to Donate events in which local restaurants in their community donate 20% of their proceeds for the evening to one of its fundraising teams

We continue to be driven by our passion, to do our part, in finding a cure for cancer. Through fundraising efforts and education we encourage you to plug in with our “Pest Control For a Cure” page on Facebook and our website at SpencerPest.com. We have done so much together already, for which we are thankful, but there is still much more to give.

With Love and Thanks,

Sheri

So Thankful to Give
